When Leslie C. Denton was born in March 1898 in Lewis, New York, his father, William, was 24 and his mother, Mary, was 21. He married Lillian M Desautels (Desotelle) on February 25, 1918, in Essex, New York. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private in Medical Detachment Company, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 8, 1918 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France.
