Harry William Weygandt was born on May 7, 1896. He was the son of William Harrison Weygandt and Elizabeth Heiman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Corporal in Company K, 28th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on October 10, 1918 and is now buried in Restland Cemetery, Mendota, LaSalle County, Illinois, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry Division monument in St. Juvin, France but his surname is inscribed as Weigantt.
