Dietrich Benjamin Rempel, Jr., aged 22, was born on December 16, 1921. He was the son of Dietrich Bergman Rempel and Katharina Bagenski Rempel. He served in Company C, 363rd Infantry, 91st Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. Rempel, Jr. died on July 7, 1944 during the battle in the area of Ponzalla, Italy and is now buried in the Marion Cemetery, Marion, Marion County, Kansas, USA.
