He served in the 363rd Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division as a Private First Class during World War II. He died on April 16, 1945 during the battle in the area of Ponzalla, Italy and is now buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Chestnut, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, USA.
