Corporal Kiley was born in Miller's Falls Massachusetts on November 14, 1923. After he entered the service on November 2, 1942, Kiley served as a n 81 mm mortar crewman. Then on D-Day Kiley was severely wounded after landing in an apple tree in Normandy. With only one good eye, he was then imprisoned at Stalag VIIA until the war ended. Kiley managed to return to the United States and was medically discharged from the Army on May 31, 1946. However Kiley suddenly died the next month on June 12, 1946 due to an undisclosed cause.
