George N. Lowry was born on April 20, 1898 in Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island. He was the son of William Nixon Lowry and Lottie Jane Mowry Dexter. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I as a Private First Class in Battery B, 102nd Field Artillery Regiment, 26th Infantry Division. He died on October 17, 1918 in France at the age of 20 and is now buried in Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery and Memorial, Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Departement de la Meuse, Lorraine, France. He also has a cenotaph located in Pine Grove Cemetery, Northbridge, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA.
