Francis Jerome “Frank” Jacques was born on November 4, 1922 in East Tawas, Iosco County, Michigan. He enlisted in the US Army 8 May 1942 in Detroit, where he was working. His civilian occupation was skilled laborer in production of beverages; he was single without dependents. Francis served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Sergeant in Company L, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He died from his wounds received in battle on June 30, 1944 at the age of 21 in France and is now buried in Saint Joseph Cemetery, East Tawas, Iosco County, Michigan, USA.
