Robert J. Bolton was born on August 30, 1920 in New Hampshire. He was the son of Frank Bolton and Mary Grimard Bolton. Robert enlisted in the Army on June 19, 1940, prior to the war. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in the production of paint and varnish and also as Married. He resided in Hillsborough County, prior to the war. Robert served as a Staff Sergeant, 32nd Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France at the age of 23 and is now buried in Saint Augustin Cemetery, Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA.
