Joseph L. Tate was born on May 8, 1909. He was the son of Harry Tatelbaum Tatelbaim and Rachel Tatelbaim. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Corporal in the 7th Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France at the age of 35 and is now buried in Custom Tailors Cemetery, West Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, USA.
