Rudy A. Godreau was born in 1913 in Maine. He enlisted in the Army on December 30, 1942 in Portland, Maine. He was noted as being employed in the manufacture of paper and pulp and also as Single, with dependents. He resided in Oxford County, Maine prior to the war. Rudy served as a Private, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France and is now buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
