                            Theodore Jankowski was born in 1925. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Private in the 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. He formed part of an assault platoon storming Omaha Beach in the first wave, at 6:40 am, under the guns of a German strong point. All the officers in his company had been wounded or killed by noon. He is now buried in Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum, Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, USA.
