Joseph Pecoraro was born on October 20, 1915 in New York. He enlisted in the Army on September 19, 1940, prior to the war, in Rochester, New York. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed by the New York Central Railroad and also as Single, without dependents. Joseph served as a Private First Class in the 18th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 10, 1944 in France at the age of 28 and is now buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, Monroe County, New York, USA.
