Raymond served as a Private First Class, 18th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He died from his wounds received in battle on June 8, 1944 in France and is now buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.
