Edward Soucie was born on February 22, 1922 in Maine. He enlisted in the Army on January 28, 1941, prior to the war, in Bangor, Maine. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed in woodworking and also as Single, without dependents. Edward served as a Technician Fourth Grade, Medical Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II. He resided in Aroostook County, Maine prior to the war. He was Killed in Action on June 6, 1944 during the invasion on Omaha Beach, France at the age of 22 and is now buried in Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery, Eagle Lake, Aroostook County, Maine, USA. His name is commemorated on the First Infantry monument on Omaha Beach, France and ranked as a Private.
