Daniel Shane Kluck was born on August 6, 1957 in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky. He was graduated from Owensboro High School in 1976 and entered the U.S. Army the same year. He had a 2-year tour of duty in Germany, received Good Conduct medals and was an expert rifleman and a radar repairman. He was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. Daniel served in the United States Marine Corps as a Specialist 5th Class. He was killed in the terrorist bombing of the United States Marine barracks. In the early morning hours of 23 Oct. 1983, a truck loaded with explosives crashed through the security perimeter of the USMC Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon. In the explosion that followed, 241 US Military personnel were killed and 80 serious wounded. He is now buried in the Owensboro Memorial Gardens, Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky, USA.
