Charles Auxter was born on February 1, 1923. He was the son of Roy Lynn Auxter and Leola Bonnetta Cook Auxter. Charles served in the Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant. He died on February 27, 1945 at the age of 22 and is now buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont, Sandusky County, Ohio, USA. He served as an aviator in WWII and was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
