Frederick E. Benoit, Jr. was born on July 8, 1923. He was the son of Frederick and Ruth A. Benoit. He graduated from Palmyra High School in Riverside, New Jersey. Frederick served in the 1343rd Base Unit as a Sergeant and Navigator of an aircraft. He was killed as a result of a mid-air collision between two Army planes in the China-Burma-India theater of World War II on October 10, 1944. He is now buried in the Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
