Craig Newton Blood was born on June 22, 1919 in Alameda County, California. He served in the Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant and Co-pilot of an aircraft during World War II. Blood was killed when U.S. Army Air Corps B-29-1-BW Superfortress #42-6262 was shot down by fighter over Mukden, Manchuria. Ten other airmen also perished. He is now buried in the Los Gatos Memorial Park, San Jose, Santa Clara County, California, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. Craig is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
