Alan D. Boddy, aged 22, was born on September 16, 1922. He was graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and was employed by the New York Telephone Company before entering the service. He served in the 9th Combat Cargo Squadron as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. 2Lt. Boddy was Killed in Action April 29, 1945 when his plane crashed near Lasho, Burma. He is now buried in the Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
