Paul L. Box, aged 27, was born on November 11, 1915 in Cleveland, Pawnee County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Linah W. Box. He enlisted on December 18, 1941 in the US Army Air Corps and served as a Crew Chief of an aircraft during World War II. He died on October 29, 1943 over China and is now buried in the Zachary Taylor National Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, USA in a common grave with his crew. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
