Hugh S. Brixey, Jr., aged 25, was born on February 1, 1919. He was the son of Hugh S. Brixey and Norma Thomas Brixey. Hugh served in the US Air Corps as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on October 15, 1944 in the crash of Consolidated C-87 Liberator Express #43-30595 and is now buried in the Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, Barry County, Missouri, USA. Hugh was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
