Cloyd D. Brown, aged 22, was born on April 18, 1921 in Louisiana. He served as a Staff Sergeant and Assistant Engineer on B-24D #42-40930, 425th Bomber Squadron, 308th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Cloyd was "Killed In Action" when his B-24 was shot down and crashed near Hankow, China during the war. He was originally interred in Schofield Barracks Mausoleum #2, Hawaii and was later repatriated Zachary Taylor National Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, USA on May 12, 1949 in a common grave with his crew. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
