Marshall F.F. Brown, aged 24, was born on September 27, 1917. He was the son of Avery Brown and Marvin Brown Baker Brendel. He served in the 23rd Pursuit Group as a Private First Class. Marshall was killed in Asiatic area on July 3, 1924 and has a cenotaph in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery, Morganton, Burke County, North Carolina, USA. Marshall body was buried in a military cemetery in Yunnan Province, China. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
