George E. Carter, aged 25, was born on February 15, 1919. He served in the 491st Bombardment Squadron, 341st Bombardment Group, Medium as a First Lieutenant. He was Killed in Action on March 30, 1944 aboard B-25C "Mitchell" #41-30154 in a crash at Ratio Lake, India and is now buried in the Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Arlington County, Virginia, USA. George was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but death date is inscribed as 1944-04-04.
