Percy Burke Coker was born on November 15, 1918 in Roane, Navarro County, Texas. He served in the US Air Corps as a Captain and Co-pilot of an aircraft during World War II. Percy died on December 5, 1944 at the age of 26 in Assam, India and is now buried in the Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Bourbon County, Kansas, USA in a common grave with his crew. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
