Morris L. Eldridge was born in 1917 in Washington. He was the son of Alfred (Ted) Eldridge and Adeline Elgin Wilder. He resided in Jefferson County, Washington prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army on February 17, 1941, prior to the war, in Tacoma, Washington. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as an Architect and also as Single, without dependents. Morris served as a Second Lieutenant and Bombardier on B-25H #43-4360, 491st Bomber Squadron, 341st Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

B-25H #43-4360 took off from Yangkai, China on a bombing mission. After completing the mission they ran into extremely bad weather and are believed to have crash at sea. He was declared "Missing in Action" on May 13, 1944 and is commemorated on the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Morris was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
