Paul Lawrence Enzinoer was born on August 27, 1923 in Nebraska. He was the son of Lawrence Enzminger and Ida Louise Marsh Enzminger. A graduate of Grand Island Senior High school in 1941, he held a civilian pilot's license before he enlisted in the army air forces in 1941. He was called into active duty in Panama in 1942. He reported for duty in Panama in 1943 and in June, 1945, was sent to India. Paul served in the 90th Fighter Squadron, 80th Fighter Group as a First Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on September 14, 1945 at the age of 22 in China and is now buried in the Grand Island Cemetery, Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
