Albert J. Erdman was born on June 9, 1908. He served in the 1330th Army Air Force Base Unit as a Private First Class and Crew Chief of an aircraft during World War II. Albert died on December 19, 1944 at the age of 36 and is now buried in the Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, Sangamon County, Illinois, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
