Henry Eyerman was born on January 8, 1921. He served in the 468th Bombardment Group as a Staff Sergeant and Gunner of an aircraft during World War II. Staff Sergeant Eyerman was killed when U.S. Army Air Corps B-29-1-BW Superfortress #42-6238, converted to tanker, crashed into Emei Mountain in China due to bad weather. Nine other airmen also perished. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.

Henry was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
