Albert Standish Ford was born on May 4, 1922. He was the son of Frederick P. Ford and Barbara Standish Ford. He served in the 10th Squadron, 3rd Combat Cargo Group as a Second Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He was declared "Missing in Action" on July 16, 1945 over India and is commemorated on the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines. He also has a cenotaph located in Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa. Albert was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but death date is inscribed as 1944-07-15.
