Jimmie L. Frizzell was born on April 17, 1924 in Mississippi. He served in the 308th Bombardment Group as a Technical Sergeant and Engineer of an aircraft during World War II. TSgt Jimmie Frizzell along with 11 was on a combat return flight from Kweiling to Kunming when the plane hit a mountain top and crashed into an adjacent mountain. There were 2 survivors. Jimmie was not one of them. His name is written in the World War II Honor List of Dead and Missing by the State of Mississippi, War Dept. June 1946. He is one of the forty-three from Simpson County, Mississippi who lost their lives in this fight. He is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA.

TSGT Frizzell was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but hid middle name's initial is inscribed as K.
