David P. Greene entered the military service in New York. He served in the 315th Squadron, 433rd Troop Carrier as a Second Lieutenant and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He went missing on October 19, 1944 but was officially declared dead on October 20, 1945. His name is commemorated on the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines. David was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
