Gene Hensley was born on March 4, 1912. He served in the 13th Squadron, 1st Transport Group as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on November 13, 1944 in India at the age of 32 and is now buried in the Montgomery Memorial Park, London, Kanawha County, West Virginia, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
