Stanley E. Hetsler was born in 1910. He served in the Air Transport Command as a Private First Class and Radio Operator of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on June 29, 1944 while flying over "The Hump" and is has a cenotaph in the Ashland Cemetery, Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio, USA. Stanley was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China. His current burial place is unknown.
