Jerome J. Hubert was born on July 21, 1921 in New York. He resided in Erie County, New York prior to the war. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on March 1, 1943 at the Nashville Air Corps Facilities, Nashville, Tennessee. He was noted as being employed as an Office Clerk and also as Single, without dependents. Jerome served as a Corporal and Kicker in an aircraft in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He died on March 20, 1945 in an airplane which crashed into the side of a mountain over Burma. He is now buried in the Saint Stanislaus Roman Catholic Cemetery, Cheektowaga, Erie County, New York, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
