Cecil F. Jackson was born on February 7, 1925. He resided in Macon County, Illinois prior to the war. Cecil served as a Corporal on B-24M #44-42114, 373rd Bomber Squadron, 308th Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He was "Killed In Action" when his B-24 crashed 12 miles southeast of Luliang, China during the war. He was originally interred overseas and was later repatriated in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA on February 3, 1949.
Cecil was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China but hid middle name's initial is inscribed as O.
