Loren R. Jacobs was born on November 27, 1920 in Union County, New Mexico. He was the son of Clarence Winfield Jacobs and Lula Estella Mantz Jacobs. He served in the 1347th Army Air Force Base Unit as a Corporal and Navigator of an aircraft during World War II. Loren died in a non-combat incident in India on June 15, 1945 at the age of 24. He is now buried in the Clayton Cemetery, Clayton, Union County, New Mexico, USA.

Loren was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China and ranked as a Corporal and job's a Radio Operator.
