Chester A. Jennings was born on January 12, 1923. He served in the 678th Bomber Squadron, 444th Bomber Group, Very Heavy as a Sergeant and Radio Operator of an aircraft during World War II. Sergeant Jennings perished when U.S. Army Air Corps B-29-10-BW Superfortress #42-6323, nicknamed "Eileen" crashed and burned in India. All eleven crew members were killed. He is now buried in the Ethel Reece Cemetery, Barnsdall, Osage County, Oklahoma, USA.

Chester was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
