John J. Kreyer, Jr. was born on June 16, 1923. He served in the 1347th Army Air Force Base Unit as a Technical Sergeant and Radio Operator of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action on April 16, 1945 at the age of 21 when his a plane crash in Hsin, China and is now buried in the Long Island National Cemetery, East Farmingdale, Suffolk County, New York, USA. John was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
