John M. “Jack” Lesher, Jr. was born on June 26, 1920. He was the son of John Lesher and Cecily B. Lesher. He was a 1939 graduate of Audubon High School and entered the Army in January, 1942. John served in the US Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant during World War II. He was Killed In Action aboard U.S. Army Air Corps B-25J Mitchell #43-3948 over/near Liuchow, China on September 5, 1944. He is now buried in the Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA. Lt. Lesher was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
