Marlow W. Liebing was born on January 16, 1920. He served in the 373rd Bomber Squadron, 308th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Staff Sergeant and Gunner of an aircraft during World War II. Marlow died on July 30, 1945 at the age of 25 and is now buried in the Milbank Cemetery, Milbank, Grant County, South Dakota, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
