Paul Leo Liske was born on December 7, 1923. He was the son of Frank Liske and Mary Szyperski Liske. Paul served in the 1347th Army Air Force Base Unit as a First Lieutenant and Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. He died on June 15, 1945 at the age of 21 and is now buried in the Saint John's Cemetery, Joliet, Will County, Illinois, USA. Paul was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
