Robert G. Marsh was born on January 23, 1922 in Jackson County, Ohio. He was the son of James Walker Marsh and Grace Workman Marsh. He served in the 1327th Army Air Force Base Unit, Air Transport Command as a Sergeant and Crew Chief of an aircraft during World War II. Robert died on February 13, 1945 at the age of 23 and is now buried in the Ridgewood Cemetery, Wellston, Jackson County, Ohio, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
