John J. Marszalek was born in 1921. He worked for the Mesta Machine Co. before entering the service in January 1942, and had been overseas for four months. He served in the US Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant and Bombardier of an aircraft during World War II. He was Killed in Action aboard a B-29 bomber in the China-India-Burma area on August 2, 1944. John is now buried in the Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
