Richard E. Miller was born on August 28, 1915. He served in the 425th Bomber Squadron, 308th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Second Lieutenant and Navigator of an aircraft during World War II. Richard died on August 24, 1943 at the age of 27 and is now buried in the Sherwood Burial Park, Salem, Salem City, Virginia, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
