Robert H. Moser was born on April 13, 1918. Reared in Colorado City, he was a graduate of Kilgore high school and was associated with his brother Virgil Moser, in a produce business before he joined the Air Forces. He served in the 1330th Army Air Force Base Unit as a First Lieutenant and Co-Pilot of an aircraft during World War II. 1st Lieutenant Moser had been flying the "hump". He entered the service in September, 1942, and was commissioned at Selma, Ala. Before going to overseas duty he was stationed at as a ferry command pilot in Detroit, Mich. He was killed in a crash of a transport plane over the Himalayas on Dec. 7, 1944 and has been officially missing since that date. His name is commemorated on the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines. Robert was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
