George J. O'Cavage was born on March 2, 1919 in Pennsylvania. He was the son of John O'Cavage and Margaret Juodzius O'Cavage. George served in the 425th Bomber Squadron, 308th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Staff Sergeant and Assistant Radio Operator of an aircraft during World War II.He died on August 24, 1943 at the age of 24 in China and is now buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
