Raymond L. Pavlina was born on January 17, 1923. He served in the 374th Bomber Squadron, 308th Bomber Group, Heavy as a Staff Sergeant and Arm Gunner on B-24J #42-73329 during World War II. Raymond died on December 24, 1943 at the age of 20 and is now buried in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Rasselas, Elk County, Pennsylvania, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
