Chester W. Pearce was born on April 3, 1922. He was the son of Charlie W. Pearce and Charlie W. Pearce. Chester served in the 29th Troop Carrier Squadron as a Sergeant and food kicker in an aircraft during World War II. He died on September 23, 1944 at the age of 22 and is now buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Honolulu County, Hawaii, USA. Sgt Pearce was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
