Stanley A. Penkul was born on November 29, 1918. He served in the 341st Bomber Group, Medium as a Gunner/Photographer on B-25 41-12966. Stanley died on October 30, 1943 at the age of 24 in a plane crash and is now buried in the New Albany National Cemetery, New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana, USA. He was one of over 2000 Americans who lost their lives defending China from their Japanese invaders from 1941-1945. He is commemorated on the The Monument to the Aviation Martyrs in the War of Resistance Against Japan in Nanjing, China.
